New Video - Bread & Roses Presents by Pint of Soul

We are so excited to present a new short documentary about the work of Bread & Roses Presents, a film by Pint of Soul, directed/produced by Dan Foldes and co-produced by Francesca Lee, with narration by Peter Coyote. The film showcases four programs presented by Matt Jaffe at Timothy Murphy School in San Rafael, Tammy Hall at Center for Elders Independence in Oakland, Circus of Smiles at Canal Family Support in San Rafael, and The Lemon Hammer at the Father Alfred Center in San Francisco. Includes interviews with the artists, facility staff and Bread & Roses Executive Director Dave Perron and Producer Francesca Lee which highlight the benefits that live art has on children, adults and seniors in varied institutional settings.

The San Francisco Sound Concert to support Bread & Roses

joansfsoundOn the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love, the music that took Haight Ashbury's message of peace and love and sent it around the world will be celebrated in "The San Francisco Sound," a multi-media musical history tour at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 22, in the beautifully restored Nourse Theater in San Francisco.

Joan Baez, inducted this year into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, heads a cast of rising young Bay Area singers putting a fresh new sheen on great old songs from the era. Caroline Sky, The T Sisters and many others will re-interpret some of the classic songs from the time. Music Director Jimmy Dillon leads the Summer of Love Band. Paul Liberatore brings some rock history into the mix with photos, videos and stories from the Summer of Love. Tickets are $67 and $49.99 at City Box Office and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Bread & Roses.
